It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...Again! was a 2018 original Musical Theatre Production with a "variety show" twist and the second installment of “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas”, produced in partnership with Cue The Lights Productions, written and directed by Liana Del Mastro, with musical arrangements, compositions and direction by Darnell Thomas and choreography by Tamerra Herres. It premiered on Saturday 15th December, 2018 at The City Playhouse Theatre in Thornhill, ON.
Synopsis:
The theatre will be transformed into a lavish estate where an annual ritzy "Christmas House Party" is being held. The show breaks the "4th wall" by providing an immersive and sensory experience for the audience. Christmas sights, smells, sounds and tastes will transport the audience into the life of the story. Audience members, essentially, become the "guests" of the house party and are treated to a Pre-Show Soiree where they are allowed into the house (the stage) and even get refreshments at the bar. The hosts, two old childhood friends, do their best to bring everyone into the Christmas spirit .
This ‘variety-show’ inspired musical theatre production will take the audience through memories of Christmas past and present – some poignant and others hilarious. As the hosts and the party’s guests (the cast) interact on stage, sharing their best and worse nostalgic moments, we begin to realize what is truly at the heart of the season for all these larger than life characters. The meaning of Christmas slowly unfolds in a heartfelt and entertaining way.
