BEHIND THE ARTISTIC PROGRAMMING

ENTHUSIAST (en.thu.si.ast | / ɛnˈθu ziˌæst, -ɪst /) - is an individual that has an interest in a performing arts discipline that they would like to explore at their leisure.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL (pre.pro.fes.sion.al | /pri-prəˈfeSH(ə)n(ə)l/) - is an individual that is committed to honing a performing arts skill set through focused and intense training with the goal of pursuing such at a tertiary level school and/or as a professional career.

PROFESSIONAL (pro.fes.sion.al | / prəˈfeSH(ə)n(ə)l/) - is an individual that has honed their performing arts skill set and is actively a member of their field or retired.

At TIFTPA, we anticipate that students will choose to come to our institution for many reasons. As such, the scholarly engineering behind our programming is based on the following three (3) principles:

  1. EXPLORATION - By exploring a performing arts discipline, students will also intrinsically explore themselves, discovering more about who they are.

  2. LEARNING - To learn is to acquire knowledge by means of experience, study and/or being taught. Subsequently, during the process of learning a performing arts discipline, students will also learn more about themselves and apply the knowledge to other areas of their lives.

  3. EXPRESSION - Through exploration and learning of a performing arts discipline, students will boost their emotional intelligence allowing them to freely express how they feel through the performing arts discipline. They can then use this enhancement to better navigate their emotional expression in everyday life.

With programming for the enthusiast, pre-professional and professional student in music, acting, dance, musical theatre, the classes address the unique needs of the individuals that make up our arts community.
